Here is an example of a partial map of the imperial power network..
Multinationals involved in the Egyptian Refining Company (ERC) include:
Private investors from the Gulf as well as “development” finance institutions, including the International Finance Corporation (a limb of the World Bank), the Dutch development bank and Germany’s DEG (these are institutions committed to pushing the neoliberal program of dismantling the State, and selling off its functions to private companies) and the InfraMed Fund (another neoliberal institution focusing specifically on taking control of infrastructure in the Middle East, with financing exclusively from Western investors).
These all, along with Citadel Capital, own ERC. Citadel owns the controlling shares, and Citadel is itself owned by American, European, and other intrernational investors.
Furthermore, these entities are simultaneously connected to funding for US think tanks like the Brookings Institution, the most influential policy group in America.
All these combined interests converge in Mostorod, Qalubiya at the new refinery expansion that gives Citadel (and all the imperial owners) control over Egypt’s energy security, and obviously a keen interest in the price of fuel.
If you disrupt this facility, the impact will reverberate all the way up the hierarchy.
