A few points regarding interrogation:
The first three rules for what to do when you are being interrogated should be like the first three rules of “Fight Club”. Do not talk, do not talk, do not talk.
An interrogator will do everything possible to “get your side of the story”, but you must understand, you can not talk your way out of trouble with the police or intelligence services. They do not want to “help” you, they want you to help them. They will pressure you, threaten you, plead with you, and of course, beat and torture you; but you have no weapon but your silence.
Be polite, not aggressive or emotional.
As much as possible, don’t make eye contact with the interrogator.
Most interrogators have some training in body language and facial expressions, it is almost impossible to prevent revealing discomfort, nervousness, and other sudden reactions to an interrogator’s questions, so don’t try. Instead, try to deliberately insert odd facial expressions, twitches, and movements randomly throughout the interrogation to camouflage any genuine involuntarily revealing body language. Let your eyes wander, move your head, fidget, bite your lip, etc; This will make it more difficult to read your movements and expressions.
One of the biggest advantages interrogators have is that they are talking to you soon after your capture. Because of this, most people are desperate to get back to their normal lives, and put the situation behind them. You have to realize that this is not going to happen.
You have entered a new battlefield, and you can only go forward, yes, probably into prison; so you should completely let go of the notion of going home. Of course, this is tremendously painful, but it is essential for your survival to accept the reality, and go forward into this new level of struggle.
May Allah protect you all
