The moral condemnation of Western society for slavery is highly ironic, given the fact that it was Western society that first recognized the moral evil of slavery and the first to abolish it.
For thousands of years, slavery was practiced without moral qualms all around the world, but the only society being castigated today happens to be the very society that decided slavery was wrong.
Go figure.
