The basis for all civil rights progress for Black people in America has been the Constitution and the founding principles – that is why slavery was abolished, that is why schools and public facilities were desegregated, that is why voting rights were ensured, that is why access to housing was ensured, that is why affirmative action was enacted, etc etc…it is simply nonsensical to condemn the system and fundamental values of the country as corrupt and rigged against Black people, when it is that very system which has consistently responded to grievances over policies that contradict the Constitution.
