I am convinced that the first step to combatting corporate supremacy is, yes, to leave the current major social media platforms, like Facebook and Twitter. There will be no governmental intervention to rein in the toxic power of these platforms, and there does not need to be: the people themselves gave them the power they have, and the people themselves are the ones who can take it away.
