We are in a phase of our history when we cannot expect to have sovereign governments that reflect the popular will. They will either be Imperial client governments which rule by force, or which are forced to rule according to the dictates of imperial power. This is the case whether the ruler is called a democratically elected president, a military dictator, or a khalifah. We are in the phase of the “Mulk Jabiry”
Our struggle and our jihad, must be to confront the forces of capitalist imperialism and global power to try to achieve a greater degree of justice; which cannot be achieved by merely confronting subordinate regimes.
Rather, it can only be achieved by directly engaging the forces of global control; multinational corporations, financial institutions and investors; the owners of the imperial system, and their instruments of domination.
It is to these forces we must address our struggle. We must address our demands to them; address our grievances to them; address our warnings and threats, and our activism against them. We must focus our efforts against the entities which control, not those which are controlled; which dictate, not those which are dictated to.
