I think there are at least three strategic components necessary to liberate ourselves from corporate imperialism.
First, we need to revive as much as possible the Sunnah with regard to material lifestyle and accumulation of possessions. One of the key facets of the kuffar’s strategy to spread their domination is the promotion of rampant, irrational consumerism. Allah and His Messenger ï·º warned us many times about the destructiveness of materialism and the love of wealth. It makes us weak, cowardly, afraid of death, and easy to manipulate and control. While zuhd is not obligatory in Islam, there is no doubt it is the Sunnah of our Prophet, and in the context of our struggle against capitalist imperialism, it is a weapon. This is the work of us all.
Second, we need to actively confront the entities of economic occupation; corporations and investment projects. We need to disrupt their operations, drain their profits, and cut down their share prices. I have already discussed this aspect of strategy at length. This is the work of the active revolutionaries on the ground.
And finally, we need to develop long-term alternatives to the neoliberal program. This means implementing more protectionist economic measures, re-negotiating oil and gas contracts, developing domestic skills and resources and so on. This is the work of the political parties.
