Everyone, when Unilever CEO Paul Polman signed a letter of concern last December about the Rohingya, you can be sure that Unilever’s Board of Directors, and Public Relations department stipulated that he sign the letter independently, not as a representative of the company.
Today, Unilever essentially stated that he signed the letter on behalf of the company itself, and that Unilever as a company is concerned about the protection of the Rohingya. That is a wonderful development.
The tweet they sent out today was, no doubt, the result of intense discussion within the company about how to respond to the #WeAreAllRohingyaNow Campaign’s outreach.
