It is one the great human ironies that those who seize power without right are always those who believe they have the right to power.
If you believe that you have the right to rule others without their consent, it can only be based on contempt for those you rule.
It is therefore a given that you will not rule fairly, but rather you will rule to serve the interests of those whom you do not hold in contempt; in other words, in the interests of the powerful.
