You should know that the economies of the West, particularly America, became powerful because they followed polices which are the opposite of the policies being imposed on Egypt.
We do not advocate driving multinational corporations out of Egypt, but their presence must be regulated so that they do not 1.) dictate domestic policy; and 2.) they do not undermine domestic business.
Let me explain.
When you buy goods from a shop, you negotiate the price. The shop owner will try to get as much profit as he can (that is what businesses do), so you must bargain with him to reach a reasonable price. If he can profit, he will not refuse to sell the goods, even if it is not as much profit as he wanted. If you do not negotiate, you will pay too much.
It is essentially the same principle with state economic policy. If you do not negotiate the terms that govern the presence of multinationals in your country, they will try for as much profit as possible, and you will pay too high a price; and this price will include even the sovereignty and independence of your country, your quality of life, and even your freedom
