At present, there is no competition between the army-owned businesses and the multinational corporations and imperialist investors.
As previously stated, the $150 billion economic power of the military is incapable of rivaling multinationals. There are individual companies which have by themselves more economic power than all of the army’s enterprises combined.
As long as the military efficiently manages the neoliberal enslavement of the country, it can benefit from its collaboration with the imperial masters, including being allowed to hold on to the companies it owns. That was the whole point of the coup in the first place.
Of course, if you successfully prove to the multinationals that the coup cannot fulfill its institutional function, prove that Sisi is not a profitable investment, the army will immediate realize that its assets are in danger, and will try to protect them. At this point, you will have created a competition between the coup and its owners, and this is the point at which the coup will be eliminated.
