The enemies of the revolution in Egypt are calling for stability, and what they mean is de-mobilization. They want the people to leave the streets, and let the revolution die.
But mobilization is not contrary to stability. The genuine revolutionaries are not a destabilizing force, and condemn what destabilizes the lives of the people.
Corruption is destabilizing; poverty is destabilizing; unemployment is destabilizing; debt is destabilizing; destroying the economic safety net for the poor is destabilizing; opening up Egypt to be plundered by multinational corporations is destabilizing.
We are mobilizing against the destabilization of Egypt, against the exploitation of Egypt, against the enslavement of the Egyptian people to international Western business.
No power system can enjoy security until it secures the rights of the people. We do not call for methods of resistance which will increase the suffering of the people, or spread chaos in the society. The aim is not to stir up unrest for its own sake. We are dedicated to addressing the socioeconomic demands and needs of the people, and that is the only way to achieve stability.
