It is much less important to increase GDP than it is to decrease…

Posted on April 2, 2015 by Shahid Bolsen

It is much less important to increase GDP than it is to decrease the gap between rich and poor.

It is far better for the economy to increase the number of people in the middle class instead of increasing the number of billionaires.

We need to develop policies that can actually narrow the huge income disparity.

Two simple proposals:

1.Limit executive salaries to no more than 12 times the salary of the lowest paid worker in the same company.

2. Tax “intangible” wealth such as stocks and bonds.

These two measures could have immediate impact on narrowing the income gap in any country.
