“Qur’an and Sunnah” is not a political platform any more than “freedom and justice” or “law and order” are political platforms.
We all believe in Qur’an and Sunnah, and in freedom and justice, and so on; but we need practical policies which reflect these beliefs and actualize our ‘aqeedah.
If any of the readers of this page belong to an Islamist party, or follow any islamist party leaders, I urge you to ask them to articulate their policy vision. How will they deal Islamically with issues such as :
Taxation
Foreign investment
Public -Private Partnerships
International trade
Control of natural resources
Food security
Unemployment
Income inequality
Housing
National debt
Monetary policy
Land ownership
What will your relationship be with institutions like the IMF, WTO and the World Bank?
Etc, etc
If the answer is something like “we will form a committee to analyse these issues”, then you will know that they have no ideas, and simply seek power and position.
Do not give your loyalty to any party or politician until they can present policies that prove their loyalty to you first.
