The term “Open Source Revolution” is adapted from the term Open Source Software, referring to a development model for software applications which “promotes a universal access via a free license to a product’s design or blueprint, and universal redistribution of that design or blueprint, including subsequent improvements to it by anyone.”
Open Source Revolution means a revolutionary strategy of universal access, not the exclusive franchise of groups and parties; It is a leaderless strategy not needing approval or permission from anyone. . It has no prerequisites other than an understanding of the basic dynamics of power and control in the society. It can be undertaken by small groups, large ones, and even by individuals; it requires no obligatory mass organizing, no major funding, and no specific tools, weapons, or equipment, except as determined by the needs of a particular tactic that you may develop.
