The issue of security is mostly a propaganda device for Israel. It is one of the most fortified and militarily invulnerable territories on earth. The real issue that troubles the Israeli leadership is the issue of demographics; and this should be the issue we focus on.
Over the past 15 years the largest number of immigrants to Israel have come from the former Soviet Union. Roughly a million since 1990.
These are not believers in the Zionist mythology; they are economic migrants who went to Israel in hopes of financial prosperity. Most of them are not “religious” Jews, most do not speak Hebrew, and most of them are poor and badly treated. It would not take excessive persuasion to convince them to return to their home countries, if conditions for them within Israel become too difficult or dangerous.
