Dictators and military juntas are the preferred managers of neoliberal reforms. That’s why it is easy to mistake uprisings against neoliberalism for revolutions against autocrats. But once the struggle becomes about political parties and governmental forms instead of socioeconomic rights and demands, the revolution is over.
