Someone asked me about a fitness program called “Insanity”, and whether or not I would recommend it.
I don’t really follow trends in exercise plans, so I wasn’t aware of this program, but I reviewed it. Essentially, it is just a regular HIIT style workout emphasizing fat burning. So, yes, it seems good for losing weight and building lean muscle, just as any HIIT program will do, if you are consistent and exert real effort.
But don’t pay for it. You can do exactly the same thing for free, at home or in a park.
In terms of conflict fitness conditioning, I think it is not sufficient though. It is important to combine different training disciplines, such as martial arts conditioning, gymnastics, parkour, functional movement, and so on, to develop the physical confidence and skills for dealing with real confrontation scenarios.
