There was a severe fire apparently at the Misr Spinning and Weaving Company in Kafr al-Dawwar, one of the main employers and important publicly owned companies in the area..it has been a center of labor activism for years…
I don’t know the details yet, but it is likely the government wants to privatize it, so the fire (the cause of which is as yet unknown) is highly suspicious
