In addition to Zakaah, there are many socioeconomic measures which could potentially solve the manifold problems of the current economic system, .It seems to me that revolutionaries should organize in support of these types of policy demands, rather than focusing on toppling any particular regime.
Some of these I have mentioned before.
— Progressive taxation, for instance; increasing the amount of taxes paid by the richest individuals in the society. It is obvious, but what actually happens is the opposite.
— Rather than simply establishing a national minimum wage based on the cost of living, instead stipulate that the minimum wage at any company should be no less than 10% of the highest salary at the same company. This will be a major step towards remedying the massive income disparity in society..
— Regulate the corporate ownership structure so that employees must be the major shareholders of any company they work for. This will connect business decisions to the interests of local communities
— Impose restrictions on the exit of capital by foreign investors once –it has been invested in local projects.
–Subject all Public-Private Partnership projects to a review by a committee of community organizations and activists to determine their social impact.
–Ban corporate donations to political candidates and parties, and impose donation limits by private individuals.
And the list goes on…
