There is no interim phase between the Mulk Jabryy period and the return of the Khilafah ‘ala minhaj nubuwwa, except for the possible exception of a phase in which there is no imam, in which case, our Prophet ﷺ advised us to distance ourselves from every faction, while we still remain under the obligation to enjoin good and forbid evil, and struggle for justice.
There is no reason not to assume that the Mulk Jabryy period and the period in which there is no imam are not one and the same phase.
