There have been many, and continue to be many investment events which would be perfect sites for public demonstrations. From the Economic Summit last March, to the Euromoney Conference last Summer. These are ideal targets for mass protests and disruption.
When I merely mentioned the possibility of targeting the Euromoney Conference, immediately their website removed the location information about the event. You can see that they are very nervous about being targeted.
In December, there will be an event called the Egypt Megaprojects Conference, it is a follow-up to the Economic Summit held in Sharm el-Sheikh. This, too, would be a great target for disruption and mass protest.
It will be held over two days, December 8-9, and is being organized by a company called MEED, Intelligence Events and Insights. One of the key objectives of this conference is to pressure the regime to enact more laws and regulations that favor foreign investors over the citizenry, and to facilitate further transfer of Egypt’s sovereignty to the global owners of capital.
