The educated class in any colonized society generally speak in the lexicon of their masters. They are the amplifiers for the rationales of power and the justifications for oppression.
They are estranged from the majority, and are infused with the same contempt for the population that their masters feel, indeed, their contempt may even surpass that of their colonizers, because through their hatred for the people, they can draw closer to their masters, and earn their trust.
Being born an Egyptian,an Algerian, an Arab, indeed, being born a Muslim, puts them at a defensive disadvantage in relation to their masters, and they seek to compensate for this disadvantage by disassociating themselves as much as possible from their own culture and origin. They believe that honor and respect and superiority is derived from mimicking their masters; behaving as they behave, dressing as they dress, believing as they believe, and defending their system.
This process of self-subjugation is called education
