The danger of extremist interpretation of the religion is quite real, however the extremists who insist on an incorrect rigidity are far fewer and less influential than the extremists who insist on an incorrect laxity.
Accommodationist extremism receives state support and funding and unlimited access to public platforms, it also enjoys the added advantage of being able to promise safety and ease to its adherents, particularly in kafir societies.
Alhamdulillah, this Ummah will never unify upon an extremist doctrine; neither one which is too harsh nor one that is too compromising
