The most effective strategy for pursuing independence and popular sovereignty in Egypt today is neither armed conflict with the security forces, nor mass revolt against the regime. Not only are these options unfeasible given the reality that opposition parties are in the minority; but also, neither approach actually confronts the real power system controlling Egypt.
A campaign of targeted system disruption against the imperial corporate power structure is the best way forward. It will produces minimal public backlash and is likely to generate broad support, insofar as we will be advocating socioeconomic demands common to millions of Egyptians, and not engaging in actions which disturb the daily lives of most people.
System disruption of this kind is the only tactic which fully leverages the dynamics of the power system against itself, potentially even utilizing corporate law to legally obligate companies to cede to our demands.
