The statement of Mohammed bin Zayed that the money the UAE has poured into Egypt should entitle him to rule and control the country is not unusual in the least. It is upon this assumption that all loans and investment are made. Mohammed bin Zayed is simply stating explicitly what everyone understands implicitly. The owners of capital are the rightful rulers, everywhere. Those who fund, who finance, who donate, who lend, are the constituents of every government. Their interests are to be served, their dictates are to be implemented.
Investors and creditors are not “pumping money into Egypt”, they are buying it.
The owners of capital are the owners of society; the masters of the state; and they manage the affairs of society for their own personal benefit. That is precisely why the only effective strategy is to interfere with their benefits.
