The most obvious and reflexive result of any traditional terrorist attack in the West is the intensification of security and surveillance in the society, not a change in foreign policy.
Ultimately, this serves the interests of power and business elites who need the domestic population to be increasingly tightly controlled as they are simultaneously increasingly impoverished and exploited.
As I have stated before, the “war on terrorism” is nothing more than a pretext for implementing a pre-emptive counter-revolution against the domestic population who might, otherwise, rise up to challenge the radically unequal distribution of power and resources in their societies.
It seems to me that we, the Muslims, should rather develop strategies to promote such uprisings in the West, rather than contribute to the mechanisms for repressing them
