If you do not recognize the imperialist-colonialist nature of the struggle in Egypt (and throughout the region), you will inevitably fail.
Successful anti-imperialist struggles have always, and must, base their strategies on a fundamental intention to deliver consequences to the overriding imperial power, not only to the puppet regimes managing their countries on behalf of the Empire.
Traditional theory has been to create strife and chaos, to cripple the ability of a puppet regime to manage the society effectively.
But, you have to realize that power has learned the lessons of past experience, and the Empire of Capital has developed mechanisms which enable it to retain power and prosperity – indeed, to increase its power and prosperity – amid chaos and strife.
The transformation of traditional imperialism from being nationalistically-based to capital-based; the creation of the Empire of Capital itself; was, at least in part, developed as a response both to successful revolutionary strategy in the past, and to the expectation of future resistance to imperialism.
Power has learned and adapted, and this obliges us to also learn and adapt. They have fortified themselves against the impact of our old strategies, and we must, therefore, develop new means of imposing consequences and liberating ourselves from their domination
