Leadership in any revolutionary movement is always, by default, determined through meritocracy; not by election, and not by self-appointment. Leadership is not selected, it emerges by effective action on the ground. Strategists, theoreticians, political figures, all have their roles; but the leaders are the risk-takers and active rebels who plan and carry out revolutionary action.
