Admiring a thinker is perhaps the worst thing you can do to his ideas.
Not only will you impede your own ability to critique them, which interferes with his own ability to develop and improve his ideas, but at a certain point, you may begin to lose objectivity about the ideas of others if they challenge those of the thinker you admire, and at this point, you abort your mission of intellectual exploration and the pursuit of the truth.
This is the ultimate betrayal against any sincere thinker whose goal is to assist people towards the truth, not to draw people to himself.
