Bear something in mind whenever you hear the talk about “assimilation”…
When the Kuffar used to first encounter the Muslims, they were amazed. They used to say that these people appear to be a new, higher species of human beings; like monks by night and lions by day, with unimaginable discipline, humility, fairness, and commitment.
A Muslim is supposed to be conspicuous in his strict preservation of his Islamic identity, unique in his circumspect adherence to his pact with Allah. There is no question about “fitting in”, it is our role to be outstanding, not just one of the crowd.
Do not let anyone fool you into thinking that co-existence must necessarily mean assimilation.Does a teacher mimic the ignorance of his students in the classroom to make them more comfortable?
