Just a quick note…when you see a Sister without hijab, restrict your negative judgment about her to this one act of disobedience she is committing, and do not assume that she is someone who does not care about the Deen at all, or that she has bad character, and so on.
She is doing something wrong, yes, but you don’t know what is causing her to do so, and you do not know anything else about her, so do not assume the worst.
I have seen many, many brothers shave off their beards which Rasulullahh ï·º ordered them to keep, and they do so for the tiniest of reasons…becasue they think they will be discriminated against on the job, at the airport, or that they will draw attention to themselves as being “religious”, and they are afraid of being targeted by the enemies of Islam.
Well, those are men, and they bring the excuse of fear; so what about women? Particularly since wearing hijab is, for a woman, a much more conspicuous indicator of “religiousness” than a beard is for a man, and is much more likely to subject her to discrimination.
Wallahi, it takes courage to wear hijab; and I honestly don’t know if men were required to wear something similar, whether they would have the guts to do it.
So be fair, be compassionate, and do not extrapolate from the absence of hijab that Imaan is totally absent from her heart.
