Following the terrorist attack last week in Istanbul, as usual, there was an obvious disparity in the way the atrocity was reported by the Western media, and a disparity in the way the people of the West reacted; and as usual, this merited criticism. “Why is it a horrific outrage when non-Muslims are killed in a terrorist attack, but not so when Muslims are killed in an attack?” And this disparity brings accusations of hypocrisy and double-standards. But it shouldn’t.
When a wolf kills a deer, does a bear express his condolences while his own jaws are dripping with another deer’s blood?
The indifference of non-Muslims to atrocities committed against Muslims is absolutely consistent. If they expressed outrage and grief, THAT would be hypocritical. They are committing worse atrocities on a daily basis against Muslims; why do you expect them to condemn it when someone else does it?
If they had any objection to massacres against Muslims, they would not commit them.
