There is apparently an ongoing crisis in Armenia, as gunmen have stormed a police headquarters in Yeravan, holding the police hostage, and calling for the release of Jirair Sefilyan, a jailed Armenian leader who opposes Azerbaijan’s role in the Nogorno-Karabakh dispute; a dispute in which Turkey strongly supports Azerbaijan and Russia supports Armenia.
Reportedly, there are negotiations underway with the gunmen, and there may be no greater agenda here than the release of Sefilyan.
