There is a popular notion that Israel is benefiting from a vast Jewish-Zionist conspiracy in which global media, finance, and political power are all controlled by Jews to support Israel. We need to step back from this theory, and remember who it is we are talking about.
We think too highly of them when we give credence to these conspiracies.
Allah Subhanahu wa Ta’ala said
تَحْسَبُهُمْ جَمِيعًا وَقُلُوبُهُمْ شَتَّىٰ.
And that is what we think about them now, but that is how their hearts really are now.
No question, Jews are in positions of influence in areas like media and finance, not to the extent that we simplistically imagine, but yes, disproportionately so. However, it is a mistake to assume that this means they are all united and organized in service to the Zionist cause. If this were true, it would constitute a complete rehabilitation of everything we know about their character from the Qur’an, from the Seerah, and from their own long history.
They are not a people devoted to ideological principles. If they were a nation that could unite and sacrifice and commit to a belief, they would still be Muslims.
Their Deen is their dedication to their own material self-interest, their love for the Dunya.
Allah said,
“وَلَتَجِدَنَّهُمْ أَحْرَصَ النَّاسِ عَلَى حَيَاةٍ وَمِنَ الَّذِينَ أَشْرَكُواْ يَوَدُّ أَحَدُهُمْ لَوْ يُعَمَّرُ أَلْفَ سَنَةٍ
Their Deen is their greed and selfishness, their petty miserliness, their vindictiveness and contempt for others, even for other Jews
The Jews in high positions in the media and in banking and so forth are dedicated to their own personal interests, nothing more, nothing less.
Don’t imagine that after Allah removed His Mercy from them they became a more united and self-sacrificing people than they were when the prophets were among them. They bickered and back-stabbed, and chased after personal benefit then, and that is what they do now.
The first people who will turn their backs on Israel will be Jews, as soon as it becomes unprofitable to support it.
