A lot of the nonsense that is floating around the discourse of Political Islam, revolution, and opposition movements in general, would evaporate if leaders were forced to disclose their sources of income, and their own material lifestyles, in my opinion.
Though I am not the leader of any party or group, it is appropriate that I comply with this demand myself:
My income is derived primarily from doing technical / legal writing and research for a law firm in the UK, payment for published articles, and teaching English.
My flat is approximately 75 square meters, my rent is 1,200 Turkish Liras per month. I
travel by public transportation (which is excellent in Istanbul) or by walking.
I do not receive funding from any groups or individuals. I have no “team”, only a handful of volunteers who translate my writing.
