The election of Donald Trump by ageing Baby Boomers is perhaps the last nail in the coffin for that once-rebellious generation’s ideals; and reveals a tremendously selfish streak; selfish to the point of cannibalistic.
The generation of the 1960s protesters and activists is the first generation in American history who have left their successors worse off, with less opportunity less security less hope, and less upward social mobility. They have turned their children away from political participation, and are using what remains of their own political influence to betray them and their futures.
