It is important to decipher the social hieroglyphics of UKIP voters defecting to the Labour Party. We shouldn’t call working class nationalists crazy; they have been flocking to whatever political party seems to address their otherwise totally ignored concerns. In the absence of a viable Left, the Right Wing can recruit the working class through nationalist rhetoric. Clearly Corbyn presented a platform and philosophy that more deeply resonated with them though, so they voted Labour.
