Activists, please stop promoting strategies that disempower the people and which depend upon the benevolence of political leaders with vested interests who will never take a stand that threatens their privilege and position and their good relations with their elite sponsors.
The general public can help stop the genocide by directly lobbying corporate power, by negatively impacting the market share of companies invested in Myanmar, their share values, and their profitability.
We have the tools in our possession to do this ourselves; we do not need to beg politicians and world leaders.
Make the crimes of the Myanmar government bad for business, and the crimes will cease.
