There is a misconception that seems occasionally to arise regarding the #WeAreAllRohingyaNow Campaign strategy. I think this misconception is usually due to unfamiliarity with what we have said and written about the strategy, or else due to an ideological inability to process aspects of the campaign that are themselves unfamiliar to most people. The misconception is basically this: that we expect corporations to behave in a moral way.
I have reiterated frequently that corporations are not moral entities, and that their decision-making process is binary. They are concerned about profitability and unprofitability; and that is all. We do not suggest otherwise, ever. This transparent criterion for decision-making is precisely what we are counting on. We are not placing our trust in corporations to behave morally, we trust that corporations will behave like corporations, and thus maneuver within their internal logic to utilize their predictable behavior.
