Insofar as Darwinian evolution and Atheism seem to have become interconnected, if not interdependent creeds; I find it puzzling that they, on the one hand are able to justify their theory with the explanation that it can only be proved over the course of hundreds of millions of years, but on the other hand say that there cannot be a God because bad things happen to good people. In other words, extremely long term thinking only applies to their theory, but extremely short term standards are applied to religious beliefs.
