There are 3 main reasons I am opposed to #lockdown as a response to #coronavirus
1. It does not save lives…the WHO has been quite clear about what measures need to be implemented to protect people from the virus — testing, contact tracing, and isolation of confirmed cases –That is what actually worked in China, and anywhere else it has been implemented. The policy of lockdowns is not efficient and does not protect the vulnerable
2. It is a camouflage for the unprecedented transfer of public money into the private sector, a cover for the huge financial crisis caused, not by the virus, but by fraudulent corporate practices; and it will be used to impoverish millions of people and bankrupt millions of small businesses
3. It sets a terrible precedent of accepting the suspension of basic rights and freedoms, surrendering the public domain, empowering the state with Totalitarian control — what is happening IS martial law — and it is the forfeiture of fundamental principles of liberty and human rights, as well as the nullification of the social contract between the citizens and the government; and once accepted, it will prove very hard to reject.
