المعنى السياسي الضمني لرفض الإلحاد لأي سلطة عليا هو أن الدولة هي أعلى سلطة، أي أن الدولة هي الإله. لا أعرف أي شيء أخر يمكن أن يكون “دينيةً” بشكل حرفي أكثر من هذا.
