I do not really understand the disconnect that continues to plague political activism which can recognize that politicians are in the pocket of big business, but does not shift the focus of activism towards corporations, shareholders, and bankers, but instead continues to try to pressure individuals and institutions which are already known to be subordinate.

Historically, in order for any country to be a stable US client state, it does not only have to remain obedient, it must also remain weak. As soon as the client state approaches a capability for independence and economic sovereignty, it is immediately re-categorized as an enemy.
