You do not change people’s views by preventing them from expressing what they think; you just become unaware of how many people disagree with you, and you lose the ability to properly examine your own ideas

The majority of Americans feel they cannot say what they think. This is particularly true for moderates and conservatives, 64% and 77% respectively, feel obliged to self-censor for fear of offending someone.
