Whoever can provide goods in a war zone can charge consumers any price he likes, pay workers any wage he likes, and he can buy local goods and resources for next to nothing. A terrified and desperate population is the ideal marketplace. Spreading war and chaos, creating crisis conditions, is a brilliant business strategy.
