The original protest movement in Syria began with peaceful demonstrations, calling for socioeconomic reforms…now those original opposition activists are being targeted by the so-called “Islamists”…this is El Salvador..Nicaragua…Guatemala…of the 1980s all over again. The death squads this time around are calling themselves Islamic, but they are fighting, just as the death squads in Central America were fighting, for the Neoliberal economic agenda…That does not mean that there are not legitimate and sincere Mujahideen in Syria…but their fight is getting lost in the maybe 5 or 6 competing agendas….Ya Rabb! Allahummansurhum ‘ala qawmal-Kafireen wadh-Dhalimeen wal Munafiqeen
