It is important to understand what is going on in Egypt within the context of this new global corporate imperial system. Not only Egypt, obviously, also Syria, Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, etc. And again, not even only the Muslim world. It is a global project, and serving the interests of a global elite — not of a specific country.
It is important to this project to maintain US dominance, not for the benefit of the US, not for the benefit of the American people. Quite simply, the US possesses the requisite power and position, and domestic system, to lead the project most effectively, that’s all.
