Concentrating on socioeconomic demands directly addresses the process by which Egypt is being conquered, and the entities and individuals responsible for that conquest.
It is vital to halt the dismantling of Egypt’s sovereignty. If you have any interest in establishing an Islamic system, the prerequisite for that is independence.
When your military is funded by foreign governments and companies; when your laws are being written by and for foreign investors; when your trade policies are being dictated by foreign corporations and financial institutions; when your resources are being pillaged by multinationals, when your public institutions, your healthcare, your education, your infrastructure are owned by foreign companies; when your wages and working conditions are determined by foreigners, when every week more and more acres of your land are being bought or simply given away to outside investment firms; when even your food security is in their hands and your water utilities have been privatized, you are in a state of extreme subjugation.
In Egypt today, you are not even in a position to decide when you can turn on the lights in your own house, much less establish an Islamic state.
