Mass demonstrations should not be abandoned, but rather redirected and more focused.
There is no doubt that the revolution needs to be redefined as a struggle for independence, a struggle to reclaim Egypt’s sovereignty. This will mean mobilizing against the neoliberal project which is usurping that sovereignty, and targeting various local components of the international corporate system in such a way as to create a basis for negotiation.
This will simply require some form of strategic disruption; researched, not random, against companies connected to the global system and active in the neoliberal project, sufficient enough to impact their operational efficiency, revenues and share price, and to alarm investors and controlling-shareholders.
It should be obvious that there are almost innumerable ways you can do this, and I don’t see why mass demonstrations could not be organized along these lines.
